What she saidYour Boomerbroadcaster recently guested on Sirius XM satellite Radio show “What She Said” on CBC Canada Talks Channel 167. I was contacted by host Christine Bentley (formerly newscaster for CTV television network) and interviewed on November 12, 2014 by Christine and Kate Wheeler about my new book, BOOMERBROADcast. My segment was scheduled for fifteen minutes but it seems they couldn’t shut me up and the interview lasted for forty-five minutes. The entire experience was a quite a thrill for this Boomer Broad.

Sharon Caddy, Kate Wheeler and Christine Bentley have been trusted news sources for Canadians for decades. They interview people for information not sensation and they let you know why you should care about the topics of the day. Whether it’s finance, family, health, estate planning, tech or sex, drugs and rock n’ roll there’s no topic that’s off limits for What She Said! Join us at 10 ET on SXM Canada Talks.

Coincidently “What She Said” is one of my favourite radio shows as they cover a variety of issues often related to women specifically. As a result of previous interviews on the show I’ve purchased several books that turned out to be great reads.

As an early Baby Boomer, born in 1947, it seems to me that as we approach our retirement years, Boomers have gone from being the energy driving our nation to slowly becoming invisible. We risk losing our identity as society remains stubbornly youth-centric. And the irony is that Gen Xers and Ys are not the majority; we are. BOOMERBROADcast is my platform for being the voice of Baby Boomers, women in particular. We've generated a lot of changes over the decades but there's still a long way to go. After a 40-year career in the corporate world, I've taken up expressing the observations and concerns of our generation. Instead of pounding the pavement in my bellbottoms with a cardboard sign, I'm pounding my laptop (I learned to type on a manual typewriter and old habits die hard). If you have issues or concerns you would like voiced or have comments on what I've voiced, I'd love to hear from you. We started breaking the rules in the sixties and now that we're in our sixties it's no time to become complacent. Hope you'll stay tuned and if you like BOOMERBROADcast, share it with your friends. 1. Congrats Lynda! Just listened to the show. Well done! I always liked Christine Bentley – will have to tune in more often! Have a good week! Lola PS: just got back from a river cruise on the Danube. Well worth it! Budapest, Vienna, and many smaller towns and villages that are just stunning!
