Wishing Everyone The Best New Year Ever!

The year 2025 promises to be quite a barn-burner. I won’t go into all the changes and challenges we face in the new year, but instead I would like us to focus on how boomers can fully enjoy the upcoming year in our rapidly diminishing inventory of remaining years. We have been given so many gifts and if we concentrate on the positive, then we can turn 2025 into a year of fulfilment and joy. We have many things to be thankful for:

  • No one is bombing our home. That is not the case in some parts of the world but we are safe, warm, and free.
  • While groceries are becoming more expensive, they are still accessible for most of us. Those of us with the resources can donate to food banks and charities to help those who are struggling.
  • We no longer have to wake up and drag ourselves to work when our minds and bodies are not in the mood.
  • Boomers are the healthiest generation ever and will have the longest expected lifespans in history.
  • While families and friends may be far away, we can now talk to their lovely faces online at any time without incurring prohibitive long-distance charges.
  • Social services have advanced over the past few decades, helping us through health issues and providing a comfortable standard of living in our later years.
  • Most of us have built up a network of friends who share our lives and are there for us. What more could we ask for?

I never make New Year’s resolutions because not keeping them just causes me unwanted stress. As we ease into 2025, we will celebrate the end of 2024 by having a quiet dinner with friends and going to bed well before midnight. Boozey, all-night parties are a thing of the past and we’re content with a good movie and an early night. In the new year, I plan to watch less news, spend less time on social media (definitely a challenge), and tend to my simple pleasures. No unattainable, high-minded resolutions, just quiet resolution and gratitude.

I appreciate your ongoing support for BoomerBroadcast and I wish all my readers the best new year ever. You’re the reason I now love getting up in the morning and broadcasting my musings. Keep well.

Happy New Year. After a busy December and well past the party days I am quite happy to have a quiet New Year’s Eve.
I am thankful for my family, my friends and all that comes with that.
Good enough for me, and blessed to have it.

Well said, coming into the new year I have no resolution except to work to change what I can and work with what I can’t. The years go by so fast and change happens so often we barely get a chance to adjust. Best wishes for the New Year.

It’s been a pleasure reading your blogs and hope they continue for this upcoming year which is already heating up politically. Seems like yesterday we were gearing up for the turn of the century to 2000. Happy 2025🥳
