I promised my husband I wouldn’t talk about him in my blog, but since he doesn’t read it anyway and I know I can count on you to keep it to yourself, this one was just too good to resist. His Christmas present to me this year was the coup de grace, home run, the grand slam of gift-for-your-wife faux pas – not one, not two but a set of three crock pots – one medium size and two little ones. Combined with the large 5-quart Crock Pot I already own I’ll be able to open a concession stand at the CNE selling hot dogs. Am I not the luckiest girl in the world? To be fair, he did consult me ahead of time – told me he saw them at Sam’s Club and was very impressed. While I gently stated that I thought I could manage without them, he got more excited and it became obvious he really wanted to buy them. Guys clearly love gadgets with electrical cords no matter how useless they are. Part of his responsibility for giving me such a precious gift included finding a place to store them. After a great deal of clanging and banging, he managed to clear out the top shelf of the cupboard in the laundry room so now they’re all safe and sound – and out of sight! I’m truly, truly blessed.
He also got me a nice book that I’m enjoying and in order to preempt complete and utter catastrophe on the gift front, I had pre-selected, purchased and placed under the tree, a lovely little Tiffany’s blue box for Lynda containing a pendant on a silver chain. Whew! Saved by the credit card. He “done good” after all.
That is so sweet. My husband and I just go out shopping together.
Whatever happened to “it’s the thought that counts”….cut the guy some slack….I got a new washer/dryer for Christmas and new tires for my birthday so you know it only gets better the longer you are married!

Wow Lynda, you certainly are a ‘lucky hot dog’. If you weren’t so far away, we would drop in for one….
